ECE develops, plans, builds, leases out, and manages large commercial real estate in the retail, office and industrial sectors since 1965 and is active in 15 countries.

The company is a leader in the European market with 196 shopping centers under management (43 of which are managed by MEC METRO - ECE Centermanagement). On an overall sales area of 7 million m², about 20,000 retail businesses generate €23 billion in annual sales. Among these centers are Aquis Plaza in Aachen, Skyline Plaza in Frankfurt / Main, Milaneo in Stuttgart, and Marmara Park Istanbul. ECE also realizes other commercial properties in the Office, Traffic and Industries business units, such as the new Philips Headquarters in Hamburg, the ThyssenKrupp Quarter in Essen or the 25 hours hotel in Düsseldorf.

ECE Real Estate Partners
ECE Real Estate Partners is the ECE Group’s institutional fund management platform. It is a sister company of ECE Projektmanagement and also owned by the Otto family. Together with its Luxembourg-based subsidiary it is engaged in the management of the “ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Funds”. These administer equity commitments of more than 1.5 billion euros, raised from globally leading institutional investors, such as international sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and insurance companies.

The ECE Funds focus on the acquisition of existing shopping centers with value-add potential which is realized through extension or re-positioning of the center or optimization of the branch and tenant mix.
