RICS promotes and enforces the highest profesional qualifications and standards in the valuation, development and management of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. Our name promises the consistent delivery of standards – bringing confidence to markets and effecting positive change in the built and natural environments.

We accredit 125,000 professionals and any individual or firm registered with RICS is subject to our quality assurance. Their expertise covers valuation and commercial property practice; property finance and investment; project management, planning & development; quantity.

We believe that standards underpin effective markets. With up to fifty per cent of the world’s wealth bound up in land and real estate, our sector is vital to economic development, helping to support stable, sustainable investment and growth around the globe.

With offices covering the major political and financial centres of the world, we are ideally placed to influence policy and embed professional standards. We work at a cross-governmental level, delivering international standards that will support a safe and vibrant marketplace in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure, for the benefit of all.

RICS in Europe
RICS is present in 40 countries Europe wide (excluding UK and Ireland) and the number of RICS professionals continues to grow in the region. We have over 8200 qualified members in Europe (excluding UK and Ireland), recognised by the title MRICS (Member of RICS) or FRICS (Fellow of RICS), and over 1,400 candidates for membership from diverse backgrounds.
We recognise the importance of academia in the future of our profession, from higher education and professional standards, to selective assessment and lifelong learning. We have 6900 students following one of the 64 RICS accredited courses in Europe. Our self-regulation model provides reassurance to international consumers and investors. It takes into account the particularities of each local market, thanks to a dedicated regional regulation team who monitor and follow potential risks.
